Natasha Hamilton vowed to eat her placenta following the birth of her and Ritchie Neville's daughter Ella, in a bid to combat post-natal depression.

And it seems as if the gorgeous Atomic Kitten star is a woman who stays true to her word.

The 32-year-old mum-of-four took to Twitter over the weekend to post a photo of her placenta.

But, thankfully for squeamish followers, she has had her afterbirth transformed into tablet form.

Sharing a pic of her placenta pills on the social networking site, she wrote: "Huge thanks to Laura who I found through the IPEN website for collecting my placenta & encapsulating it #IPEN2014."

It comes as no surprise to hear that Natasha is going through with her plan; after suffering from severe post-natal depression before, she told the Sunday Mirror that eating her placenta "just seemed right".

She said: "It just seems right. Instead of taking loads of different vitamins, I would be nourishing my body with my own placenta that's been nourishing my baby.

"It's like the circle of life."

The Big Reunion star also signed a petition to the EU food standards agency, which is trying to ban what some view as a "disgusting" practice, as well as backed placenta encapsulation (where the placenta is dried and ground into a powder and made into capsules).

Meanwhile Natasha is still recovering from baby Ella's birth, writing: "So our 1st outing with Ella was a complete success although I am so tired now. U forget how long it takes to fully recover after birth…"

Thank goodness Natasha, who is also mum to sons Josh, 11, Harry, 9, and Alfie, 3, has Ritchie and the boys to help her out with new baby Ella, eh?
