The 33-year-old, who has two-year-old son Aleph with husband Benjamin Millepied, has admitted that motherhood has made her less judgemental.

Speaking to a UK newspaper recently, the Thor actress revealed: 'I love being a mum.'

‘I'm less judgmental than before I had a kid. The biggest thing about parenting is that it is a totally different experience for every person.

'Everything is cool, there are no rules - I mean, apart from not hurting your kid. Some people breastfeed until their babies are five, and some don't breastfeed at all.'

The actress, who is preparing to direct her first film, A Tale Of Love And Darkness, added:

'There are no rules about what it means to be a feminist, or a good mother. For some, it's going to be right to go back to work, for others it's going to be right to stop working completely.'

The Israeli-born star, who left the limelight at the height of her fame in 1999 to complete a degree at Harvard, admitted last month that she did not realise how much work being a mother would be.

'I love being a mum, but it’s much more intensive work than being an actress – going to work feels like you’ve got a day off,’ she admitted.

'Not that I want a day off from being a mum, it’s just perhaps I had this impression before that mums don’t work. But they work more than anyone.'
