Molly-Mae Hague has revealed she’s taking legal action against the dog breeder who sold her boyfriend Tommy Fury their Pomeranian puppy Mr Chai after a number of social media posts claimed the Love Island star was trying to “lay the blame” for the dog’s death.
The 21 year old’s boxer boyfriend gifted her Mr Chai for her birthday back in June but they were left “heartbroken” when the dog died just a week later, six days after he was imported to the UK from Russia.
Molly and Tommy explained in a YouTube video that an autopsy revealed Mr Chai’s “skull wasn't fully developed” and “part of his brain was exposed”, but breeder Elena Katerova of Tiffany Puppies later released a statement insisting that he was a “healthy, beautiful pup”.
Molly has now revealed she’s spoken with her lawyer after the breeder appeared to accuse the reality star-turned-influencer of trying to “lay the blame” for Mr Chai’s death on her.
Molly said, “I have been made aware of a number of social media posts relating to Mr Chai today.
“I cannot comment in detail on these posts as they are being dealt with by my lawyer - but it is fair to say that if they are intended to suggest wrongdoing on my part in relation to Mr Chai’s death, they are entirely false.”
“At the appropriate time I will comment further as necessary but for now I am grateful these posts have been removed,” she added to The Sun.

The publication also claims that Molly and Tommy were offered an “identical puppy” to replace Mr Chai after his death.
A source explained, “Molly was deeply distressed in the days following Mr Chai’s death.
“She communicated the death to the breeder and the breeder suggested replacing Mr Chai with another dog. Molly wanted to grieve and move on.”
A representative for Elena Katerova and Tiffany Puppies said, “We can confirm that offering a replacement puppy in the circumstances on compassionate grounds is entirely normal within the breeding community. Our client is not in a position to offer any further comment on this matter at this stage."

Earlier this week, Molly spoke out to warn fans against buying dogs that have been imported from outside the UK.
She said, “If we had our chance again, we wouldn’t have imported from Russia.
“The autopsy results showed that [Mr Chai’s] skull wasn’t fully developed and he didn’t have a white blood cell left in his body.
“If we had the time again, we’d have a dog from the UK.”
Recalling the hearbreaking moment a vet informed her of Mr Chai’s death in a YouTube video earlier this year, Molly told fans, “Tommy literally threw up everywhere.
"I was like, 'It's a prank' as we get prank called all the time and she was like, 'No, your dog has died.'"
