After emerging victorious from his fight against Jake Paul in Saudi Arabia, Love Island's Tommy Fury acknowledged last week that girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague has had a “hard start” to parenthood as she has done much of it solo.

The boxer, 23, and influencer, also 23, welcomed their daughter Bambi in January, with Tommy leaving just weeks after the birth for training camp ahead of his stint in the ring.

Molly has been sharing the struggles of motherhood with fans, saying that while she is “obsessed” with her daughter, she’s also been devastated by the trolling over Bambi’s name, which reminded her “how nasty this world can be”.

And now insiders say that Molly also found it hard being distanced from Tommy, as he’s been focusing on his fight.

The source says, “Being a new mum, Molly understandably found it tough when Tommy was away and it was a big reality check for her and made her fear for their future. It was also the fact that his focus has not been 100% on Bambi, as he was preparing for the fight.

“She found being without him really hard – and she’s worried that in the future he may be away a lot for long chunks of time. It really brought home how lonely she felt without him.”

Molly and Tommy met on Love Island in 2019 and have remained one of the strongest couples to emerge from the show. And professionally, the couple have also thrived – with Molly being creative director of Pretty Little Thing, while Tommy has been building his career as a boxer.

The source adds, “Molly supports Tommy’s ambitions and knows how much he loves them. He’s a devoted father and boyfriend so she’s just hoping that she can turn this situation into a positive and learn to be self-sufficient, independent and cherish the time they are together.”
