She was once renowned for being a Hollywood wild child, regularly partying with pals Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.
But at 28-years old, Mischa Barton tells Closer she’s a reformed character and enjoys the quiet life.
She says: “I actually really like gardening now. I find it really fun. I like hanging out with friends too and having them all over for dinner. I love travelling too. Just visiting different countries and exploring is so amazing.”
The star – who has been appointed Head Judge of VAPESTICK Style Icon- rose to fame aged 17 in 2004 playing Marissa Cooper in The OC but she admits living life in the spotlight was challenging.
She says: “It can be hard when you’re young and famous and in the public eye. You’re under a microscope. People write what they want about you which is tough.”
This week, the star even admitted to regretting taking part in the hit sitcom, revealing: “It’s something I came so close to not doing. I had a really great thing with film.”
When asked if she would take up the role of Marissa again, she said: “Probably not.”
Now the star divides her time mainly between LA and London – where she was born to British parents – and says she loves the UK culture.
She says: “I love London. It’s got a really cool vibe and I have family here so I love spending my time in the UK.”
