Speaking in Australian documentary series ‘Family Confidential,’ Miranda’s mother, Therese, revealed: ‘her life is so different now (and) she’s surrounded by yes people all the time. It’s so important for me to be real, to be true, to be who she needs me to be.’

30-year-old Miranda sacked Therese from her position of managing director of the model’s skincare range.

Therese and Miranda’s dad, John, both fear about missing out on spending time with their 3-year-old grandson, Flynn.

John said: ‘What I’d really like to do as a granddad now is teach Flynn how to milk a cow, how to ride a horse, teach him all them country things.’

‘You have to be in the media to be able to get your message out, but then our little Flynny doesn’t know what it’s like to walk outside without paparazzi.’

The family partly blame Miranda’s marriage to actor Orlando Bloom for her growing distance from them.

Miranda doesn't spend much time in Australia due to her busy schedule.
Miranda doesn't spend much time in Australia due to her busy schedule.

‘I would rather she did just marry a nobody because you really can’t get that family time by yourself. I just hope Flynn grows up and he wants to be with his nan and pop.’

Therese and John only heard about Miranda’s recent separation from Orlando Bloom when the actor phoned them himself.

Miranda's family worry they won't get to spend much time with Flynn.

Miranda ‘s mum revealed the her and her model daughter used to be very close.

‘We have been best friends for most of our life. We used to talk just about every day. I send her messages, just little texts to say ‘I love you honey, let your little light shine, my arms are wrapped around you.’

‘I’d like to spend more one-on-one time instead of with an entourage of people who we don’t really know. I love her to death, I just want to see her more.’

The model's parents only heard about her divorce when ex-husband Orlando rang them up.

A spokesman for Miranda responded: wasn’t able to be back in Australia to film this episode due to her busy international work schedule but is grateful to her parents, brother and extended family in Australia for their ongoing support and love. The Kerr family have a special and unique bond and I’m sure this intimate insight will be viewed fondly by all.’
