Talking to a UK news publication, the 20-year-old singer said: ‘They’ve edited the video here in the UK. They put a big X over my mouth ‘cos I was going like ‘this’’, referring to oral sex.
She added: ‘No gyrating, no ***********, there was a lot less. They took out literally everything. I thought the video wasn’t bad, then MTV in the UK sent, like, 18 notes asking for changes.'
The blonde haired beauty admitted that she wasn’t concerned about alienating her younger fans by the video, referring to her previous work as something she didn’t ‘necessarily love’ but ‘had to do’ in order to pursue her singing career.
Despite the video receiving criticism for being too raunchy, Miley has passionately insisted there are far bigger things to worry about than her ‘cute little video’.
Believing the world to be a ‘***ked up place’ she made reference to the recent Trayvon Martin trial in the US which saw George Zimmerman found not guilty of murdering the black teenager.
Miley has certainly shed her squeaky clean Hannah Montana image. Looking to Britney and Madonna for inspiration, the singer admitted that these pop artists ‘never played it safe’, perhaps accounting for her video that includes shots of her French kissing a doll and sultry dance moves.
‘We Can’t Stop’ is out on August 4.
