It’s been a difficult summer for Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright with the former Corrie star filming up north, Mark’s public scrap with Danny Dyer becoming THE story of this year’s V Festival and constant rumours they’ve made a secret pact to save their fledgling marriage.

So it’s no surprise that both stars are attempting to wrestle back control of their public love story with social media posts that show them loved up on holiday and now on the sofa back home.

Wrighty posted this pic of married bliss on Instagram last night with the caption: “Home sweet home !! Nice Chinese and a film.... Can't beat it !!@michkeegan”

Last week in Mallorca, Michelle threw a heart at Mark on Instagram but the pair were spotted in ‘tense’ discussions over dinner and their body language appeared a tad awkward:

Rumours of a split first began when Michelle was papped about town without her wedding ring. She promptly fired back on Twitter that the stories were “so boring” as she takes the wedding band off for filming.

But speculation about their marriage woes hasn’t let up since an insider told the Sun: “It's been a turbulent first year and they've been apart much more than they've been together.

“Things between them are pretty volatile. When you add it up they're just not sharing time, a bed, meals, days out, or chilling together the way couples need to.”

Professionally it’s been a success year for Michelle who’s been described as a “belter” by industry pros who think her performances in Our Girl and the upcoming Tina and Bobby could open the door to Hollywood.

As for Mark, he’s been keeping a low profile back home in Essex since the Danny Dyer debacle.

Addressing the rumours that their marriage is on the rocks, a rep for the former TOWIE lad said: “This is a fabricated story from a mysterious unknown ‘pal’. Yawn.”

Can Michelle and Mark's marriage withstand this degree of public scrutiny?

Will Wrighty follow her across the pond if Hollywood do come calling?
