Michelle Keegan’s finally broken her silence on those pregnancy rumours. The actress – who’s set to fly out to South Africa to start filming BBC One drama Our Girl – confirmed she wasn’t expecting but admitted she didn’t mind people thinking she was.
“No, I’m not pregnant,” Michelle told TV magazine. “I get asked all the time. If someone see’s a bump in my top it’s: ‘Oh my gosh, she’s pregnant.’ But, obviously that’s going to happen. I’ve been married for a year now so people are going to ask.”
In her new role in Our Girl, Michelle will spend weeks away from her husband, radio DJ Mark Wright. But it sounds like the couple are prepared.
“It’s going to be tough not being with Mark,” Michelle said. “Being away from home for a long time is a first for me but Mark’s excited about coming to South Africa to visit me, as he’s never been before.”
As for her acting role, which used to be held by EastEnders star Lacey Turner, Michelle is up for the challenge.
She added: “I haven’t looked back or regretted leaving Corrie. I was honoured to even be thought of for [this] role. It’s daunting because Lacey is an amazing actress.”
