Michelle Heaton self-isolates family as neighbour tests positive for coronavirus

She's opened up about her decision

Michelle Heaton has revealed that she's opted to put herself and her family into self-isolation after discovering one of her neighbours has the coronavirus.

Although the singer and her family do not have the virus, she's still decided to take precautious measures.

"We do not have any symptoms... kids, me and Hugh have been told to go about our normal daily life, unless we show symptoms!"

She went on to say, "That’s the advice and what’s been explained to us from the authorities. However, for those at school with our children, we are keeping Faith and AJ, and myself on 'house isolation' after much deliberation.

"Just for a few days even though, again, we have NO symptoms ATM! And have NOT been in contact with the confirmed. I know some of you will be like 'omg I don't care' or 'omg she’s dramatic' take it as you wish…we are just as worried as everyone."

Michelle went on to reassure friends and neighbours who may have been concerned about her, saying "To those countless friends and people in our are who've asked or reached out to us over the last 48 hours with concerns after seeing the men in their white suits outside our house, we are all good".

She then gave her 226k followers some advice, "Wash hands, stay clean.

"It’s not about us – the fit and healthy… its whom you may pass it onto who may not be able to fight it!!!!"

Michelle's announcement comes shortly after Amanda Holden was slammed for giving 'irresponsible' coronavirus advice to fans.

Peter Andre also hit back at reports that he banned his fans from touching him during a meet and greet but then went on to say, "On a serious note, don't touch me".

Meanwhile, the TOWIE cast were due to fly abroad to film for the new series before the decision was made to cancel the shoot. On Coronation Street, scenes have reportedly been rewritten after one of the stars were placed in isolation due to coronavirus fears.

ITV told us, "The Coronation Street cast member referred to in reports this morning has been advised by health professionals that they are not required to self isolate, following this advice they will be returning to work when they are next scheduled to film.

"The initial personal decision was taken as a precautionary measure."
