Everyone who is everyone knows, by this point, that Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones aren't having the smoothest of relationships at the moment. Especially since Catherine's spokesperson recently confirmed that the actress and her Candelabra husband ''are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage.''
But it seems as if Michael didn't get the memo, as he recently slammed reports of a breakup, saying that he and his wife are absolutely "fine".
Speaking with reporters in Berlin on Monday, the actor said, “I have a crisis at home? No, I think the press has a crisis.”
“We, we are fine. My wife and I are, are fine.”
Michael then went on to suggest that the recently revealed separation is not as catastrophic as the press have made out, underlining the fact that it is only a "temporary" thing.
“We take a temporary separation, but the press… it gives you stuff to write about.”
We're glad that the couple haven't given up on their 13 year marriage yet; the duo have been through a lot together, including the births of two children, countless red carpet appearances, Michael's near-fatal battle with cancer and Catherine's struggles with her bipolar II disorder.
Fingers crossed a temporary separation is just what Hollywood's golden couple needs to get them back on the happily-ever-after track.
