Melanie Sykes was recently arrested and cautioned after allegedly assaulting her toyboy husband.

And now, looking back over his most recent Twitter posts, it seems as if Jack Cockings had posted a joke about domestic violence just days before the incident.

He posted a picture which said: "If I have 10 pieces of bacon and you take 5 what do you have? That's right, a black eye and a broken hand."

And, to caption the image, he wrote: "Saw this and thought of my wife! @ MsMelanieSykes # MmmmmBacon"

It doesn't seem quite so light-hearted in the light of what's happened, does it?

The TV presenter was cautioned by police after a row with her husband on Tuesday night, the arrest coming mere months after the former model and her partner married in May.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said yesterday: “We were called to a residential address in Hampstead at 9.45pm following reports of an assault.

“A woman, 43, was arrested on suspicion of common assault and taken to a police station. She has since been given a caution for common assault.

"The male victim did not need hospital treatment.”
