Apparently the 15-year age gap has proven to be too much of an obstacle and the troubled couple called time on their marriage after their issues were played out in front of the world over Twitter.
A source revealed: ‘It’s not a case of Mel ending the marriage because Jack called the police. But what happened was obviously an indication that things weren't right.’
They continued: ‘It's hard to see how they're going to be able to make the marriage work. The pressure has been just too intense.’
Jack deleted his twitter account shortly after sharing a message with followers saying he had a black eye. The tweet came just after Mel’s arrest where she admitted the assault charges and spent the night in custody.
Mel has since taken to twitter herself and posted a message reading ‘Thank you to all my supporters who are smart enough to not believe everything they read in the papers.’
The couple met through Twitter and subjected their followers with a little bit of TMI after they exchanged Tweets about having ‘the raging horn’ for each other. They held a star studded wedding in May and appeared to be besotted with each other until their marriage problems were made public.
