Mel C may have looked like she living the dream as part of the biggest girl band on the planet back in the 90s but in reality she was struggling, the singer has revealed.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday's Event magazine in an interview which will be released in full later in the week, Mel admitted she was battling with several issues whilst putting on a brave face during her time in the Spice Girls.

"Depression, eating disorders, obsessive over-exercising; I went through all of it," she admitted. "Yet I didn't even admit it to myself."

The star added: "The constant scrutiny, the feeling you have no control, it's as if the best and worst happens all together and you can't even come to terms with it in your own head. You end up with no idea of who you are at all."

The star revealed that after taking some time out of limelight and trying therapy and acupuncture she began to get better.

Mel has also recently revealed why she believes the Spice Girls have come to an end and has said no to the new reunion.

Despite an offer of "a couple of million pounds" to return the star has followed Victoria Beckham's lead and turned it down.
