Mel B's marriage has been under scrutiny the past two months following split rumours and allegations of violence, but now sources close to Mel B say she’s planning a lavish wedding renewal bash this summer with husband Stephen Belafonte.
However, friends are worried the former Spice Girl, 39, may be brushing any marital problems under the carpet rather than dealing with them.
A source says: “Mel’s head has been all over the place these last few months.
"She’s now gone into wedding overdrive and is planning an extravagant party – most likely in LA or somewhere else hot and sunny – telling friends it will help to mend her relationship with Stephen. But they worry that it may not be the best thing for her at this time.”
X Factor judge Mel sparked speculation over her marriage in December when she missed the first of the series’ final shows after being hospitalised, then appeared the following night without her wedding ring. She later denied rumours Stephen, 39, had been violent towards her.
Last month, Closer reported how Mel was considering walking away from her marriage, while Stephen was urging her to give them another chance and had even suggested couples counselling.
