Mel B opens up about Victoria Beckham’s ‘debilitating illness’

Mel B has spoken out about the crippling illness Victoria Beckham suffered from back in their Spice Girls days.

Both Mel, 39, and 40-year-old Victoria gave birth to their first children while in the band, but the X Factor judge admitted she had a very different experience.

While Mel sailed through her pregnancy, fashion designer Victoria was crippled by severe morning sickness.

Appearing on The Meredith Viera Show, Mel said: "She had a really tough time but mine was easy."

Mel's first daughter Phoenix Chi was born in February 1999, while Victoria and husband David's son Brooklyn arrived in March of the same year.

It was while the girls were on their Spiceworld Tour – along with Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie C – that Victoria's sickness really got the better of her.

Mel continue: "Well she was running off the stage to go vomit. And I thought, 'Oh my god that's so tough.'"

Scary Spice also has daughters Angel and Madison, while Victoria has sons Romeo, Cruz and daughter Harper.

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Victoria snubbed the chance to assist Mel at the X Factor judge's houses round.

A source told The Sun: "Victoria has already indicated that she won't be able to do it but Mel hopes at least one of the others will help her out.

"But Mel is realistic that it's a long way to travel and the girls have other commitments."
