Mel B was rushed to hospital on Friday after going blind in one eye shortly before she was due to rehearse with Spice Girls bandmates Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Melanie C.
The band are currently preparing for their upcoming stadium tour and were set for another round of rehearsals before Mel reported a loss of vision in her right eye and had to be taken to London’s Moorfields Eye Hospital wearing an eye-patch.
According to The Sun, Mel said: “I can’t see anything – I’m totally blind.”
“She was clearly in a lot of pain,” a source told the publication.
They added: “Mel was in a really bad way. The other girls and their managers were really worried.
“Mel was frantic and screaming that she couldn’t see a thing. She went to the hospital in a chauffeur-driven car with an assistant, who was holding her hand.”
The 43-year-old singer was later transferred to Luton and Dunstable Hospital’s ophthalmology department for treatment.
“No one knew what brought it on but she had very swift, and very good, treatment,” said the source.
