The disturbing audio footage, which was published by The Sun on Sunday newspaper, appeared to show 23-year-old Dan accusing ex-girlfriend Megan Tomlin of trying to break up their family.
In the clip, a man - purported to be the TOWIE star - then threatened to stick a knife in Megan if she ever had sex with another man, despite the fact he was already with EastEnders' Jacqueline Jossa at the time.
Police, whom have been investigating the reality star over historical domestic violence claims, recently revealed that Dan would be facing no further police action over the tape recording.
Megan, a 22-year-old teacher, has remained silent on the tape until this point, but has now spoken out in a bid to set the record straight.
She told The Mirror: "I didn't leak the tape. I'm looking into how it's got so much media attention.
"The police have it, obviously, and I have been accused of selling it. I didn't.
"It's hard because people only see what the media allow them to see, it’s difficult but it doesn't affect me what people say now.
"The people close to me and Ted know the truth."
Megan, who dated Dan for almost two years before they split in April 2013, has been offered thousands of pounds to speak out about her relationship but insisted it's "not about the money".
Apparently refusing to be paid to tell her side of the story, she added: "It hasn't been a nice experience. I haven't spoken to [Dan]. We've had no contact.
"It's been a little while now. He's not seen Teddy as much but he's in his routine."
Megan added: "I've had a lot of support from family and friends. It is a private situation. I've got family and friends who are probably trying to defend me but what's been written hasn't come from me.
“If I was going to ruin it [his relationship] I would have come out a long time ago."
Meanwhile Dan, who is currently on suspension from filming TOWIE, has told the press that he will not be commenting.
Instead he will be focusing his attention on his son, Teddy, and his and Jacqueline's newborn daughter, Ella Rose.
