Meat Loaf - real name Michael Lee Aday - has reportedly been taken into hospital after collapsing whilst performing in concert last night.

The 68-year-old hit maker was singing in Canadian city Edmonton when he fell ill at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.

Fans at the show tweeted updates of the emergency, documenting him falling to the ground and a crowd-member shouting "I'm a paramedic" and rushing up to help.

His band members and fellow crew members can be seen rushing to help him, before an ambulance arrived to take Meat Loaf to hospital.

At present, there has been no official update on what caused the collapse, or what his current condition is.

A concert-goer named Lindsay Sundmark told the Edmonton Journal:

"He was performing I Would Do Anything For Love, and all of a sudden in the middle of it he collapsed right on stage. We weren’t sure at first whether it was part of the act or it was something for real."

We're wishing Meat Loaf a speedy recovery.
