The 27-year-old presenter was reduced to tears last week when he found out he’d made it through, but the competition isn’t getting any easier for him.

He told The Sun: “I have this moment before we go on where I’m close to an attack and breathing heavily – last week I even had tears in my eyes.

“It’s so much pressure and I don’t want it to end. Then I see my family and fiancée in the audience which makes me even more emotional.”

He continued: “The public have been great, but I’ve been ribbed by my mates. My granddad said, ‘Well done, boy. That was great. I mean, we could have done without the tears…’”

The former TOWIE star said that, despite the pressure he is feeling over Strictly, he and Michelle Keegan, 27, don’t discuss work when they’re at home together.

“We come home and have our normal life – we don’t talk about work,” he said.

“When I first started I showed Michelle a couple of moves. But now I do it for so many hours in the day that I would rather not think about dancing at home.

“She does her thing and I do mine. We are as normal as we can be when we are at home.”
