Mark, 28, who was engaged to Michelle Keegan during his time on the BBC One competition, has insisted the show has nothing to do with couples breaking up.
Speaking to the Mirror, the former TOWIE star: "I don't even want to comment on the 'curse'. It's nonsense. I don't even know what the curse means!"
He added that Strictly is just like any other job, admitting it's important to make time for your partner.
"I did miss Michelle while I was working on the show but it's the dame for everyone and every job you do," he said
"You just have to make sure you fit enough personal time into your day if you want your home life to be as perfect as it possibly can."
Mark obviously had no problem keeping his relationship going, as he and Michelle, also 28, tied the knot in May.
But many other couples haven't been as lucky. Ben Cohen appeared on the show in 2013 and the following year he split from his partner of 23 years, Abby.
At the time, Ben was plagued by rumours that he was seeing his former partner Kristina Rihanoff and, despite the fact they've always denied this, earlier this year they confirmed their relationship.
