Mark Wright has had a Hollywood smile for as long as we’ve known him – and now he has landed a Hollywood role too.

The 29-year-old ex-TOWIE hunk has made it as a reality star, Strictly contestant, an I'm A Celeb campmate, and TV host – and now he’s made it as an actor on an American drama.

And not just that – but he has even outdone wife Michelle Keegan who is yet to make it in America.

Mark popped up on the E! networks royal drama The Royals when the third series started earlier this month.

The show is made by the creators of iconic teen-drama One Tree Hill and stars Elizabeth Hurley as the Queen of England with Narnia star Willaim Moseley as Prince Liam and Australian actress Alexandra Park as Princess Eleanor.

Mark wasn’t playing a royal himself, but appeared as a Jonathan Ross style talkshow host in a quick scene as he welcomed the prince and princess onto his set for a celebrity interview.

And his Essex charm shines through as he delivers his lines with a little cheeky enthusiasm saying: "You know them, you love them and you send them your taxes… Please welcome HRH’s Prince Liam and Princess Eleanor."

Fans of the star were won over and flooded Twitter with positive feedback.

One fan tweeted: "From Towie to this, wow! Well done Mark!" while another wrote: "Mark Wright should have his own chat show for real."

Maybe Wossy should be worried?

It’s not the first time Mark has tried his hand at acting – previously appearing on BBC Three comedy Murder in Successville.

He has also hosted the Take Me Out spin-off The Gossip since 2012 – so perhaps playing a TV host on The Royals wasn’t too much of a stretch.

It is possible Mark is trying to develop his acting skills to give wife Michelle a run for her money.

Or maybe he is hoping that they could move to Los Angeles together – as Michelle has long admitted she would leap at the chance to star in American productions.

"Listen, if a job comes up in America, I will jump at the chance, definitely," Michelle revealed earlier this year.

The former Coronation Street star has impressed TV viewers in this year's BBC’s army drama Our Girl, which she filmed in South Africa and co-starred Musketeers actor Luke Pasquiano.

Mark previously tried to crack America back in 2012 when he starred in The Only Way Is Essex spin-off Mark Wright’s Hollywood Nights.

The show followed Mark and some of his friends as they partied through Los Angeles for a summer – but the show was axed pretty swiftly due to low ratings.

Mark will be on TV screens again after New Year when Take Me Out returns for another series – with the Essex star jetting off to the Isle of Fernandos to catch up with successfully matched daters and to see what happens next on their date.

Reports have also suggested his appearance on The Royals isn’t just a one off and he should return for another episode.

So it looks like we’ll be seeing plenty more of Mr Wright over the next few weeks - his fans will be pleased!
