Tom Grundon had attended 28-year-old Mark’s DJ set at Boomerang nightclub before being attacked – and initially claimed his injuries were caused by the former TOWIE star’s personal security guards.

In a message on the social media site, Tom said: “2 broken cheek bones, broken nose in 2 places, broken right eye socket and a crack in the back of my skull as well as bruising to my back, arms, ribs and legs.”

But presenter Mark has dismissed the allegations he was involved and reached out to Tom following the shocking attack.

He wrote: “I have seen the news regarding @TomGrundon today and I can honestly say I knew nothing about this horrible incident.

“Neither myself or Michelle have personal security. We were only made aware of this an hour ago, and have now spoken to Tom and offered any help we can to get this resolved for him.”

Michelle also sent a touching message. She wrote: “My thoughts go out to @TomGrundon and his family today, absolutely disgusting what happened, shocking and barbaric. Wishing u a full recovery. X [sic].”

Tom has since posted a new statement, insisting he now knows Mark and Michelle had no involvement in the attack.

He said: “I have received contact to say that the security guards do not work for Michelle or Mark. They work for Boomerang where Mark was DJing that night.

“Therefore Boomerang are solely responsible for the actions of this security team.”

He later added: “Can’t thank Mark and Michelle enough for all of their help with this horrible situation. They’ve been nothing but brilliant.”
