The 27-year-old was briefly suspended from the latest series after bosses caught him promoting slimming pills online.
Now, after being reinstated following the Marbella special, Italian Stallion Mario has decided to call it a day.
He told the Mirror: “I have had a great time on TOWIE and relished the many opportunities the show has given me but after 14 series, I feel it is time to move on and explore something new.”
Mario kept relatively quiet during the latest series, but past story lines for him included his relationship with Lucy Mecklenburgh, and their epic break-up – during which she threw a glass of red wine in his face.
News of Mario’s exit comes after reports that Billie Faiers and Jessica Wright are considering leaving the show that made them famous.
He follows in the footsteps of Sam Faiers, Mark Wright, Kirk Norcross and Amy Childs – who have all left the show to work on other projects.
Meanwhile it was reported this week that Mario and his model girlfriend Emma McVey have split up.
Emma posted a series of cryptic Twitter messages, suggesting that Mario had been messaging other women behind her back, while he cleared his Instagram of pictures of her.
