Nick Cannon has confirmed that his marriageto Mariah Carey is over.

Speaking with The Insider, Nick Cannon explained: "There is trouble in paradise…we have been living in separate houses for a few months."

After shooting down rumours that cheating caused the break, the star said his three-year-old twins are his 'main focus'.

Sources at TMZ recently claimed that the pair split in May and have been living in separate houses ever since.

Apparently it was Nick's appearance on Power 106 radio in March that marked the beginning of the end for their six-year marriage.

During the show, he was asked to name five celebrities that he had slept with – one of which was Kim Kardashian, who he had a brief romance with in 2006.

He said: "That's easy. OK, Mariah Carey, Christina Milian, Nicole Scherzinger, Selita Ebanks, oh, Kim Kardashian."

In the same interview, he also revealed that Mariah did not "give it up" until they got married.

TMZ claim that a "humiliated" Mariah "tore into Nick for weeks" about the interview, and that "the relationship never recovered."

The couple have allegedly hired divorce lawyers and have been negotiating a property settlement and custody agreement for their two children, Moroccan and Monroe.

After months, the divorce is said to be a "done deal".
