Taking to the stage in Tokyo over the weekend, Mariah was performing Billie Holiday’s classic piece: ‘Don’t Explain’ when she decided to change the lyrics - seemingly directing them at her ex partner.

The 45-year-old can be heard singing ‘I know you cheated, motherf***er,’ instead of the actual lyric: ‘And I know you cheat/ Right or wrong, don’t matter.’

In August, American Idol judge Cannon confirmed that the pair were living apart, telling a source: ‘There’s trouble in paradise.’

Mariah’s representative has so far refused to comment on the marriage, instead simply confirming that the star is ‘focusing on her children and her upcoming tour.’

However, the writing seems to be on the wall, as today pictures emerged of Nick Cannon’s new tattoo - covering up his wife’s name that used to adorn his back.

Mariah’s name is now covered by a large image of Jesus on the cross.
