Ah, I'm A Celebrity. We've missed it on our screens; there's nothing quite like watching Ant and Dec giggle mercilessly as celebs (and sort-of celebs) are forced to gnaw on kangaroo testicles, climb into a crate of rats and, generally, have an awful time.

But, as it turns out, the show has been forced to drop one of the classics from the menu - there will be NO more witchetty grubs. Ever.

It will be the first time since 2002 that the wriggly appetisers are not served up to squeamish stars on the hit show, which has obviously hit fans hard. There's nothing more hilarious, after all, than watching someone like Katie Price or Helen Flanagan down a squirming white maggoty thing.

However, it's all for a good reason; the decision has been made due to the fact that Australia have suffered a national shortage of the larvae – which feed off wood before turning into moths – due to particularly rainy winter.

Remember this witchetty grub moment?
Remember this witchetty grub moment?

They're trying to, you know, not make them go extinct by feeding them to Z-list celebrities. Which is fair enough, we suppose.

Series producer Tom Gould explained: “There is an Australia-wide shortage of witchetty grubs because of the weather.

“It has been too wet for them, so they haven’t hatched this year. We usually get them from Tasmania. We’ve tried to source them from every possible state – but there are none.”

We guess they'll have to find a slimy replacement for the Aussie fave; whatever it is, it has to go well with fish eyeballs, kangaroo anus and the cricket-things.

Poor Gino...

To be honest, they should just serve up extra eyeballs. They've always been the worst in our opinion!
