Luisa Zissman opens up about post-natal depression: ‘I wanted to roll over and die’

Celebrity Big Brother star Luisa Zissman has opened up about her battle with post-natal depression following the birth of her daughter, Dixie, 5 years ago.

In an interview with the Daily Star, the 26-year-old cupcake maker revealed: ‘When I had Dixie, I suffered with quite bad postnatal depression.’

Luisa suffered from the condition so badly that the experience has put her off having any more children.

She says: ‘After that I swore I'd never have another child. I have no idea why I got it. You feel so lost, helpless and lonely.’

Like a lot of women suffering from post-natal depression, Luisa felt ashamed about her condition.

She says: ‘While everyone else was bonding with their child, I wanted to walk out the door and never come back. I felt so ashamed.'

‘I wanted to roll over and die. It's such a deep low,’ adds the Apprentice star. Luckily, Luisa found her way through the depression and now has a healthy relationship with her daughter.

‘I'm so grateful for her and really appreciate the little person she is… I adore her, she makes me laugh so much.’
