Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter has proudly shown off her newborn twin daughters for the first time
Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter announced the arrival of her twin girls on 20 April.
Lucy and her fiancé Rudi Coleano, who are also parents to 11-year-old Lola, appeared in OK! Magazine to reveal the first photos of the babies - and their names.
Named Missy and Betsy, the babies - who Lucy has been referring to as "twirls" (twin girls) on social media - are of course absolutely gorgeous!
But their birth wasn't exactly plain sailing, as Lucy has told the publication.
Speaking alongside her fiancé Rudi, Lucy explained that she'd had an elective caesarean as the two little ladies were both breech - meaning that they were upside-down in the womb.
But Lucy was left feeling a little "gutted" after the birth, as medical staff had put up a curtain which meant that she therefore couldn't see the babies being born.
She said: "I wanted to watch the whole thing but they put a screen up when you're having a C-section and it couldn't be lowered quite enough for me to see.
"In some hospitals there are mirrors on the ceiling so you can see what's going on, but that wasn't the case in mine.
"I was gutted I didn't get to watch them being born."
The 40-year-old added: "You feel everything with a natural birth and I couldn't with a C-section, so I would've liked to watch it."
Bless her!
But Lucy's other half Rudi revealed that that was the LEAST of Lucy's worries after the babies were born not breathing.
He said: "There was a moment when they weren't breathing. They got handed over to the medical team straight away after they were born and they were manipulated to make sure their airways were clear."
He added that all was, thankfully, fine, but he added that it "felt like 30 minutes" when it was "probably only 30 seconds."
Lucy, who has played Chas Dingle on the ITV soap since 2002, recently opened up about her struggles with fertility on This Morning, saying that more needed to be done to raise awareness.
She said: "There's a massive chunk of education that needs to be given to women about not being able to get pregnant. Getting pregnant can be, and often is as you get older, an awful lot harder.
"I WISH people would talk about it more. I really want to do something in raising awareness around fertility in older women, because it's something that isn't spoken about and it should be."
Good on you, Lucy!
