The previously unlucky in love TOWIE star, Lucy Mecklenburgh, reveals the mistake she is determined not to make again when Mr Right comes along...
Celebs including including former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh and Loose Women’s Stacey Solomon were out in force to attend the launch of Boux Avenue's Spring Summer 2017 line. Closer were on hand at the swanky bash in London to get all of the goss and check out the underwear giant’s latest offerings.
Looking stunning in a figure-hugging knee-length white peplum dress, previously unlucky in love Lucy, 25, opened up on wanting to keep her next relationship private.
She dominated TOWIE storylines thanks to her fierce confrontations and for being embroiled in a love triangle in 2011 between Lauren Goodger and Mark Wright and since leaving the show in 2013 her high-profile relationships have kept her firmly in the spotlight. From Mario Falcone whom she dated for two years and was briefly engaged to TOWIE’s Dan Osborne; Lucy was briefly in a relationship with The Wanted singer Max George and TV presenter Gethin Jones, before meeting Olympic gymnast Louis Smith on the BBC celeb talent show Tumble in 2014. That came to a crashing halt however after 14 months.
Lamenting on her track record, she said: “I’ve found having public relationships and break-ups really tough. No one ever knows what happens apart from the two of you. Things get exaggerated, rumours start, lies are told. But I’ve learned from my mistakes and I want a low-key thing now.”
Meanwhile, former X Factor finalist-turned-Loose Women star Stacey Solomon revealed that despite proving a hit with viewers since joining eight months ago, there is still one element of the panel show that she struggles with, explaining: “I always get really nervous opening up and telling my own experiences.
The 27-year-old mum-of-two previously told on the show how she suffered a “freak accident” while traveling in a car in America with sons Zachary, 8, and Leighton, 4, which flipped upside down.
Other subjects she has spoken candidly on include her experiences of early puberty, plus, a controlling ex who knocked her confidence.
However Stacey – who is currently dating TV presenter Joe Swash – appreciates the impact that sharing such information can have.
She said: “I think it's really important to share your experiences with other women or other people who might be going through the same things so that you can lend support. Because you've spoke out they feel normal and it's not such a big deal. That is a really lovely feeling.”
Lucy and Stacey attended the Boux Avenue #impressyourself campaign launch for the Summer 17 season.
