In a dramatic live final, Love Island couple Max Morley and Jess Hayes were left delighted after learning that the public had voted for them as a the winning couple.

Beating newly engaged Hannah Elizabeth and Jon Clark, the fun-loving twosome captured the hearts of the nation with their roller coaster romance.

But despite bonding intensely over the course of several weeks, Jess insists that she is not as serious about her other half compared to housemates Jon and Hannah.

She told the Mirror Online: "We have a laugh together but we are not madly in love or anything like that.”

Jess and Max will sadly be forced to spend some time apart when they return to their homes in the UK.

Jess and Max have had their ups and downs

The couple are preparing to endure a long distance relationship in an effort to make their romance work.

Glamour girl Jess explained: "We are not going to move in together or anything like that - it's a bit soon.”

She added: "I've been in a long-distance relationship before and I think they can work out better sometimes. Anyway, I travel a lot with my job."

Cricketer Max nearly lost out on his chance with Jess after he attempted to ditch her for blonde housemate Naomi Ball.

When Jess’s love rival was ‘dumped’ from the house, Max quickly returned into the arms of his red-headed girlfriend.

He admitted to the website: "When someone asks me what I go for, I do say blonds, yeah… But you know, Jess is lovely too."
