It’s something that most woman can empathise with, but Love Island’s Lauren Richardson was driven to tears after all of the Island boys refused to choose her as a partner.

In the opening episode, host Caroline Flack asked the Love Island bachelors to step forward if they fancied any of the female contestants.

On 26-year-old Lauren Richardson’s introduction, the boys refused to step forward as potential partners for the party girl.

Pretty soon, the male contestants found themselves gossiping about Lauren’s claim to fame…

The Londoner hit the headlines earlier this year after being pictured looking ‘cosy’ with One Direction’s Zayn Malik.

Within a picture of the photo going public, Zayn had quit the boy band and returned home to the UK to be with his Little Mix fiancee Perrie Edwards.

With her fellow Islander contestants talking about her reported ‘dalliance’ with Zayn Malik, 22, Lauren was forced to deny the accusations, claiming that she did ‘nothing wrong’.

Things were yet to get worse for Lauren as a ‘couple swap’ twist enabled fellow contestant Jess- who was rapidly winning the hearts of the Love Island boys- to swap partners with Lauren. And her other half Jordan was NOT happy about it.

Lauren took to the ‘diary room’ in tears, telling viewers: “I just feel like the ugly duckling of the group.”

Viewers took to Twitter in support of Lauren with hashtag #TeamLauren being used following a prompt from Caroline Flack.
