Louise Redknapp has finally FILED for divorce from husband of 19-years. Jamie Redknapp, with sources close to the star admitting, 'there is no going back!'
Louise announced her split from the footballer in July and soon after, admitted she had felt like a Stepford wife throughout their marriage. She insisted she wanted to do more than 'running around after everyone else, and occasionally promoting a yogurt' and her heart was in her singing career, which had taken a back seat over the past few years.
By Autumn, pal Daisy Lowe has helped the Strictly star feel 'sexy again'and Louise was in the studio making new music.
However, fans will know that there were days where Louise wasn't always as sure about her on-going split and a source revealed, ''It’s all been a hard call for her and there have been times when she’s felt stronger, and times she’s felt weaker about being apart from Jamie but now she’s seriously wavering on her decision.'
Despite her cold feet, Jamie became increasingly more distant and 'hadn't answered all of her calls and he even stepped out without his wedding ring – a clear warning to Louise.’
Louise was terrified she's left it too long and "hurt Jamie too much" for them to think about rekindling their relationship.
The pair have two sons - Charley, 13, and nine-year-old Beau - and are expected to reach an amicable agreement around the custody of their two sons.
Jamie had earlier revealed how he wouldn't be spending Christmas with his family, but mostly due to work commitments.
When asked what his Christmas plans were this year, Jamie Redknapp toldMetro Online:
'‘To be honest, Christmas is such a busy time with the football and everything, I’m working. ‘I’ve just had my schedule through and I’m working Boxing Day on Sky. So I’ll be spending my Christmas on Boxing Day with Thierry Henry watching football.’
Louise said of her divorce with Jamie, 'It’s so hard because love him,’ she added. ‘He’s an amazing man and we’ve had 20 good years together. '
'I know he’s trying to understand that I need to do this. People might look at me and think I’ve got everything, but a sweeping staircase and designer handbag doesn’t really do it for me.'
‘Being fulfilled, being true to yourself, following your passion, they are the things that make you happy.'
