Poor Louise Redknapp was feeling a little bit left behind, which provoked her decision to grab life by the bal - sorry - horns, and go on Strictly Come Dancing.

When you're a mum, you have to often put yourself first, but sometimes it's important to do something for yourself - which is what the former singer decided to do.

"For me and I think so many mums will appreciate it, I was at home for quite a long time just being a mum," she said today on Lorraine.

"And as much as I loved that, I did feel a little bit left behind and they were getting bigger and I felt like I really needed to do something for myself and to love doing something."

She added: "I'm in a house of boys and they play football everyday and honestly they were always out and it got to the stage where I thought, 'I'm literally just at home waiting for everyone to get home.'"

"When Strictly came along I thought I'm going to be a little bit selfish and take this for me and I'll look forward to getting back home and being with the boys but I'm making the most of it while it's there."

Good on you, Louise! She also opened up about the nerves she gets every week, describing her weekly emotional cycle leading up to the performance:

"I always start off rehearsals in a bit of a flap and I have meltdowns Monday and Tuesday and then it sort of starts coming together Wednesday and Thursday. But it's quite a nerve-wracking experience, I do get quite terrified on a Saturday night as you open yourself up to so much criticism."

Thankfully, though, she also told Lorraine Kelly she was having the time of her life on the show - and we hope she makes it to the final!
