Wedding bells may be in store for Louise Redknapp as the former Eternal singer – who is mum to Charley, 20, and Beau, 15, with her ex-husband Jamie Redknapp – is reportedly ready to take the next step with her boyfriend, Drew Michael.
And insiders say her upcoming 50th birthday would be the perfect time for him to pop the question.
A source tells Closer, ‘Louise is madly in love and has hinted that there could be a proposal on the cards on her 50th next month. While it’s been just under a year since they started dating, they’re both head over heels and know they want to spend the rest of their lives together, so it’s something they’ve been openly discussing for a while now.’
Her ex, Jamie, 51, has already moved on since the end of their 19-year marriage in 2017. He married Swedish model Frida Andersson, 41, in October 2021, and the couple welcomed son Raphael, three, a month later. A source previously told Closer that it’s no secret Louise would love to marry again, and although she suspected that Drew might pop the question on a recent romantic getaway, she returned to the UK without a ring on her finger.
‘She thought it could happen on their recent trip to Greece, but after a few slips from Drew surrounding plans for her birthday, she is now pretty convinced that her milestone 50th will be a celebration mixed with an engagement,’ the source says. ‘They’re keen to elope with just a few close family and friends and have a very low-key, no-frills wedding, unlike her lavish Bermuda nuptials with Jamie.’
The Strictly finalist’s wedding with Jamie was reportedly organised in just three days. Arriving in a horse-drawn carriage, Louise wore a tulle spaghetti-strap dress over a black corset before saying ‘I do’ on a luxury yacht.
Louise was single for six years following her divorce from the former footballer, until she found a connection with CEO and former military officer, Drew, 40, last year. The pair have been loved-up ever since, and Closer reported that her sons had already given her new man their blessing.
The source adds, ‘She’s waited a long time to find her Mr Right and, after all the heartache of her divorce and watching Jamie move on so quickly, she is finally in a place where she’s excited about the future – and having the happily ever after she at times thought may never happen.’
