Lorraine Kelly has opened up about the painkiller Tramadol, the prescription drug that Ant McPartlin has admitted he is addicted to

A whole host of people have come out in support of Ant McPartlin after he announced he would be entering rehab for addictions to alcohol and prescription drugs.

His wife, Lisa, and his best friend Dec Donnelly both tweeted over the weekend, thanking fans for their support during the difficult time.

And now fellow TV presenter Lorraine Kelly has revealed that she was once prescribed the drug, and found it to be "seductive".

Sending her best wishes on her show this morning to Ant, who has been taking the drug Tramadol after a knee operation, Lorraine confessed that she too had been on the drug after a horse riding accident in 2012.

Lorraine said: "It really is seductive.

"I wanted the pain in the end, but just it makes everything fantastic. Your head is cotton wool."

The presenter then added that she decided against taking the drug after a while: "But it's horrible, because it's not real. I got it legitimately from a doctor, but it was my choice not to take it."

She also commended Ant on publicly announcing both his decision to enter rehab and also his depression diagnosis, saying: "He is such private person and so are both of them. You never see them at events, unless they're picking up awards.

"If depression can happen to him, it can happen to anybody and we have to respect that."

Lorraine also spoke about the fertility problems he and his wife Lisa had been facing, after a source close to the Geordie presenter revealed that it was also contributing to his unhappiness, telling The Sun: "Lisa turned 40 recently and is desperate to have kids. Lately they've started wondering if it will really ever happen for them."

Lorraine echoed pretty much the entire country's feelings when she said: "He'd be a brilliant dad, he'd be fantastic. I'm sorry he's going through this."

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield also sent their best wishes to Ant on This Morning earlier today, as did Good Morning Britain presenters Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan, who said: "He's a great guy, one of the nicest people you'd meet and his wife Lisa does my make-up on Life Stories.

"They're lovely people and obviously they're going through a very tough time and I wish them both the very best."
