Following the shock announcement at the weekend that legend Cilla Black had died aged 72, social commentator Katie, 40, took to Twitter to give her opinion.
Celebrities and fans alike flooded social media with tributes to the late star, condolences to her loved ones and memories they shared with the Liverpudlian entertainer.
But Katie wasn’t impressed. She wrote scathingly: “If there are any celebrities who haven’t yet tweeted their sadness over Cilla, please report to Sincerity Services immediately #rushtogush [sic].”
In an attempt to defend herself, after receiving a barrage of backlash for insensitive comment, Katie added: “I understand people love Cilla. But the race to proclaim this on Twitter is a curious thing.”
A furious Lord Sugar, after sharing his own tribute to Cilla, was quick to put Katie in her place. He fumed: “Why don’t you shut up idiot! [sic].
“Enough with the controversy BS you need to know where to draw the line. This was too far [sic].”
But, unsurprisingly, Katie didn’t seem too bothered about getting a telling off from the entrepreneur.
She joked: “Calm down @Lord_Sugar, you know you love your favourite Apprentice really… [sic].”
And Lord Sugar’s outburst wasn’t enough to put an end to Katie’s attack on any stars who dared tweet about the loss of Cilla.
“When we show respect we have a minute’s silence. When slebs want to be seen showing respect, there is a deafening clamour #rushtogush [sic].”
