In 1999, the women of the Rylstone Women’s Institute decided to strip for their annual calendar.
As it had been inspired by the death of group member Angela Baker's husband, John, who sadly lost his battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, they had no trouble recruiting models because they were all friends.
It sold 88,000 copies in the UK - and the inspiring shoot changed the image of the WI forever, not to mention the perception of older women.
So it makes sense that, to marked the WI’s 100th birthday, Loose Women anchor Andrea McLean and guest panellist, Anita Dobson, have decided to turn Calendar Girls themselves.
Yup, on today’s programme - which will celebrate the centenary of the Woman’s Institute - Andrea and Anita will show off their own recreations of
the iconic WI calendar shots.
We can’t wait to see them.
