Nadia Sawalha broke down in an emotional video after opening up about her hair loss gene
Nadia Sawalha has bravely opened up in an emotional video about her hair loss.
The Loose Women panelist is funny, confident and completely honest on the day time show which is one of the reasons we like her.
She has bravely opened up in her latest video on social media about her hair loss and admitted she has a lost a third of her hair because of perimenopause.
After admitted that most people compliment and ask her about her "natural curls," she admitted: "I'm going to be honest with you… they're fake.
"Yep, they are fake. I used to have the most amazing hair. It was my crown and glory. It was my most favourite thing about myself.
"It was the one thing I didn't have to worry myself about looks wise. It was thick, it was luxurious. I didn't have to do anything to it."
She then went on to explain that her hair has completely changed since then: "My hair is not like that anymore. My hair really started to change after I had kids.
"I lost a lot – like loads of mums do - but also the texture started to change."
The 52-year-old presenters then discovered that she has the balding gene and confessed she feels guilty complaining about her hair loss when there are other people who suffer from hair loss due to medical conditions.
However, she went on to say: "It doesn't really make it any easier, the fact that I'm losing my hair...
"It sounds pathetic just as I'm saying it. It does make me really sad. It just makes me feel old and I can't help it that it does.
"I know I should feel grateful that I've got any hair and I should be grateful that it could be so much worse."
She added: "I do try to but it doesn't mean that I don't miss my hair terribly."
Aww bless her.
Hundreds of people praised the CBB star for her bravery and honesty. One person wrote: "Don't feel guilty for feeling sad about losing your hair. You're allowed to be upset! You'll look beautiful no matter what and we all love your amazing personality!"
Someone else commented: "You are a very beautiful woman. It's natural for you to feel upset at what's happening. Yes, there are other people with worse problems, but you're not them. Hair or no hair you're lovely."
"Aww Nadia really feel for you, I was crying with you, I'm 29 and have lost so much hair and it's got so thin you can see my scalp all through the top, but mine is down to PCOS, stay strong you are beautiful," said a third person.
One more added: "Bless you lovely Nadia, a woman's hair is a really important part of her & it's no wonder you're upset, I'd be too. You are a gorgeous, beautiful, honest woman & I think you're very brave."
This isn’t the first-time Nadia has opened up about her hair loss, last year she explained on Loose Women that she has a balding gene and admitted back then that she feels shallow complaining about her hair.
