After the World Cup kicked off at the weekend, TV presenter Lizzie Cundy says the WAGs will still the show at this year’s contest in Brazil.
And Lizzie says when she was at the South Africa World Cup in 2010, Prince Harry, who is currently single after breaking up with socialite Cressida Bonas in April, told her at a party that he was a massive WAG fan.
Lizzie, who divorced former Chelsea player Jason Cundy two years ago, tells Closer: “I was at a party at the Saxon Hotel in Johannesburg with Prince William and Harry, who were hanging out with David Beckham. Harry was chatting to me and flirting away and he was asking me where the WAGs were. I think he likes feisty women!’
And Lizzie says a lot of the WAGs will be looking up to her pal Coleen Rooney as she continue to support her England player husband Wayne.
Lizzie, who’s been preparing for the World Cup by having her hair done by Inanch London and getting the Fake Bake on, adds: “A lot of the girls look up to Coleen. Wayne is one of the most famous players in the world and they’ve coped unbelievably well with all the bad press they’ve had. She should be admired and she’s a real sweetheart and a very popular girl. She’s got a lovely character she’s very approachable she’s one of the ones you’d go to when you’ve got a problem.
But while Coleen will be spending a lot of her time looking after her two children, Kai, four, and Klay, one – Lizzie predicts Alex Curran, who is married to England player Steven, will be hitting the dance floor.
She laughs: “Alex is great fun to have a chat and a drink with – she loves going out – she’s more the party girl – a night with her is loads of fun so I’m sure she’ll be the first on the dance floor.”
