Famous girl group Little Mix made up of Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirwall have opened up about growing thick skin as a result of the industry they're in.
The group were put together during bootcamp later went on to win the X Factor and are the first and only band win the talent show. And now the girls have revealed that the received a lot of stick about how they looked when they first started out on the X Factor.
Jesy Nelson confessed on the Jonathan Ross Show: "I think there's a lot of pressure, especially for young girls, to look a certain way and when we went on The X Factor we didn't look that great and we got a lot of stick for it and it was hard.
"Obviously we'd just been thrown into this whole experience so we'd never experienced anything like this and it was just a bit of a shock to the system.
"We still get it now but I think we've grown a thick skin now to it all."
She also admitted that it was difficult as they were all young:
"You're not used to people just being able to comment on what you look like and being able to see it in front of your face."
And even though the girls receive a lot of negative messages they're grateful for each other, as Jesy admitted: "I know it sounds really cheesy – but I love how we support each other and bring out a confidence in each other than we never knew we had."
Leigh-Anne even said: "When I split up with my ex, I was thinking 'I have got my three best friends, what does it matter?'"
Cute! We love girls sticking together.
The girls received a lot of attention after their performance on the X Factor and even Mel C said they're getting more provocative but the girls don't seem to mind and their hit single Shout Out To My Ex seems to be doing pretty well in the charts...
The girls appearance will be on ITV 1 on Saturday at 9.30pm.
