When Claire Richards slimmed down to a healthy size 12, she revealed that she’d done so because she wanted to conceive another child with husband Reece.
Speaking on Loose Women, she said: "I’m not bringing out a fitness DVD, I’m not doing some miracle diet, I don’t have the secret to weight loss and staying slim.
"This time there is a personal reason [for my weight loss] and it is something extremely personal to me but my husband Reece and I - we decided that we want to try for another baby and me being overweight was causing us a lot of problems so I went to see the doctor and he advised that I lose weight. So that is the one and only reason why I have done it this time."
So, when Lisa Riley dropped seven dress sizes, some predicted that her motives would be similar to the former Steps star.
However, speaking in a revealing new interview, the Emmerdale actress explained that she intends never to carry a child of her own - for purely selfless reasons.
“I’ve thought about it,” she explained to OK! Magazine.
“With my gene pool, it wouldn’t feel fair having a child myself.
“I think I'm more likely to adopt from one of the countries I’ve visited - Ethiopia or South Africa - than the western world.”
Lisa’s comments have come shortly after her incredible 6 stone weight loss, which saw her go from a size 30 to a healthy and curvy size 16.
And, again, her decision to transform her diet and exercise regime was inspired by her family’s health history.
In a previous interview with Bella magazine, Lisa explained that she felt compelled to go on a health kick after her dad was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.
He also suffered a cancer scare - which, for Lisa, was terrifying, as she had already lost her beloved mum to the same disease.
She said: “Losing my mum then seeing my dad wired up and nearly losing him and becoming an orphan was a shock to my system.”
“I don't want to be a statistic. I just want my health to carry on, to live my life to the fullest.”
And, refreshingly, the former Strictly star has revealed that the secret to her amazing weight loss isn’t some faddy diet.
In fact, it’s something pretty simple - and VERY sensible.
She explained: “I’m not on a diet - diets don't work.
“It's been about awareness and lifestyle. I'm loads more active than I used to be.”
Lisa now exercises regularly.
Her favourite ways to get active include walking (the NHS advise that we aim for 10,000 steps per day), zumba classes, and yoga sessions.
She has also cut alcohol from her diet.
Lisa said: “I’ve not drunk alcohol for a long time now.
“I pat myself on the back every day that not one drop of alcohol has passed my lips and I don't think it ever will again.”
We LOVE that Lisa Riley has opted for such a healthy and attainable weight loss regime - she looks incredible.
And we also admire her for deciding to adopt a child in need of a good home, particularly as she feels that conceiving a baby of her own would be ‘selfish’.
