The former Strictly Come Dancing star has opened up about being the 'fat, funny one'

Lisa Riley's incredible weight loss journey has seen her transform from a size 28 to a size 12 - but the star has now opened up to The Mirror about how she had convinced herself for years that she was happy with her frame before deciding to embark on her lifestyle change.

While sharing her dieting tips, Lisa, 41, revealed that she used to justify her eating habits by being the 'fat, funny one' - and it was only when she realised how much food she was consuming daily that she vowed to cut down. Lisa, we think you look amazing!

"Over the years, I'd told so many lies to myself about losing weight, I'd completely deafened myself. I'd got used to being different from other people and labelled myself the 'fat, funny one'", Lisa said. "The only person I was lying to about the mess I'd got myself into was me, I couldn't move on".

The former Emmerdale star's 12-stone weight loss only took her an incredible 18 months thanks to a strict healthy eating plan and a training regime, and Lisa admits to having surgery to remove excess skin after her dramatic transformation - as revealed in her documentary Lisa's Baggy Body Club.

She later said; "When I made the decision to lose weight, I never for one second imagined that I would end up looking like that. It never occurred to me that the loose skin would be so bad. I felt like I had done so well losing weight but I had ended up with the booby prize. I was revolted by my own image, it was rancid. I was used to seeing the obese Lisa reflection, but this saggy mess was new, it was painful and it was quashing the brilliance of what I had done".
