The 50-year-old, who has featured as a regular on the lunchtime show since 2008, has revealed she will not be making an appearance on Thursday because she doesn't like the new show format.

She told The Sun newspaper: "We are the hired talent and do what we are told. But the one thing in all our powers is if we stay or go, and I've decided to go.

"Loose Women is not the same show and it's not as much fun as it was. It used to be about a group of women who all know each other really well and have lots of chemistry."

She added: "It has become a lot more serious and less personal. I miss the laughs and I miss the show coming from the heart.

"Now it's just about giving political opinions. But I can't do that and I think people watching can tell if you're faking it.

"I've had a brilliant six years on Loose Women but now I'm looking forward to going back to acting."

Lisa is the fourth long-running panellist to leave the programme in just six months after Carol McGiffin left in August, Denise Welch quit in October and Jane McDonald departed in January.

And, with rumours that Carol Vorderman, Myleene Klass and Coleen Nolan are to be ejected from the lineup, it seems as if we will be meeting a LOT of new presenters over the next few months.

Will you be sad to see Lisa Maxwell leave? Who would you like to see take her place on the Loose Women panel? Do you agree that the show has changed?
