Lisa Armstrong, the estranged wife of Ant McPartlin, has hinted that she’s still waiting for her “sadness to get better” after the pair’s split.

It’s been a tough year for both Lisa and Ant after they announced their divorce and Ant returned to rehab after being convicted of drink driving, and it looks like Lisa is still struggling.

She acknowledged a tweet from a concerned fan who wrote: “Hi Lisa, I'm just hoping your feeling much better, it's lovely to see you back, your one special respectable lady, I'm drawn to you, your eyes tell a lot about your feelings, your sadness will get better (sic).”

Although she’s never spoken out about her divorce from Ant herself, Lisa often likes tweets that relate to their situation.

After Ant’s arrest for drink driving earlier this year, she indicated that she was ‘in pain’ by liking a tweet from another fan.

The tweet read: "@lisaAmakeup I see the hurt & pain on your face today sorry your hounded & not given a moments peace your such a beautiful gracious lady i wish i could take all this pain away & wrap it up & throw it away so that we could see a smile once more upon your face & peace in your heart (sic).”

Ant and Dec's National Television Awards record: 2019

Among their numerous gongs, Ant & Dec have received the National Television Award for Best Presenter for 18 years running. They were also awarded a Guinness World Record for the most wins of the award in January 2019.

Ant was fined £86,000 and handed a 20 month road ban last month after pleading guilty to drink driving. He was involved in a crash in Richmond, south London, on 21 March – and was arrested after failing a breathalyser test.

Following the crash, Ant returned to rehab - where he had spent several weeks seeking treatment in summer 2017.

“Prior to the crash he was slightly in denial about how serious his problems were, and felt he had things under control," a source told The Sun.

“But as soon as that happened, he realised he was still in a downward spiral. That was why he checked himself into rehab so quickly afterwards."

After a month of intensive treatment, he’s since been spotted looking cheerful while walking his dog Hurley, with an onlooker reporting that he looked “much more upbeat."
