The star confirmed on a podcast that she was targeted by an unknown person earlier in her career
32-year-old singer Lily Allen has opened up about being targeted by a sexual harasser earlier on in her career, and that she has now taken legal action against them.
Speaking to LBC radio host James O'Brien on his Unfiltered podcast, she star said: "I’ve been harassed. I can’t talk too much for legal reasons but I’m in the process of dealing with something.
"Suddenly, finally, I feel like I can get this a*******’s name out of my mouth and out of my head. I don’t want money.
"If it was about that then I would sue in the civil courts and would attach a non-disclosure agreement to it. That’s not what I want.
Lily has responded to it's surfacing on Twitter, saying: "Oh that’s strange, this is from an interview I did in October last year."
Speaking about the #MeToo movement, she said "What I’ve found quite interesting is people suggesting that there’s something to be gained from wanting to talk about these things,"
"Actually I think all that most women want is to just offload it. To be, like, 'You know, I don’t want to carry this around with me any more.' It doesn’t go away."
And it's not the first time that Lily has spoken out on this topic. Back in 2008, Lily Allen accused James Corden of "coming onto her" during a TV interview.
The singer said that if she had 'shut down' the TV presenter, she would have been called "cold" or "up myself".
We hope the singer is successful in her legal battle!
