The singer, 29, took a break from music to marry her husband Sam Cooper and to have their two little girls, Ethel, 2 and 1-year-old Marnie.

But she’s back with third album Sheezus and she admitted that she is scared of people labelling her new project a failure.

She told the Telegraph magazine: “I am a bit scared, worried about how I’m going to be received, and what my kids are going to think, in retrospect, when they grow up, and because I’m not bigger than Beyonce people will write about it as being a failure.

“Not that I’m putting myself in the same bracket as Beyonce. On an ego level there’s worries that things will go badly and I’ll feel like that little girl in school being laughed at when you walk into the lunch room and fall over.”

As well as worrying more about how she’ll be received this time around, Lily admitted that her priorities have changed now she’s married with children.

This time around, it's all about making her husband and children proud for Lily

She said: “When I was doing this last time around it was more of an ego thing, proving to myself that I could do it. Whereas now I know that I can do it, my drive is different.

“It’s not about going to festivals and seeing who I can sleep with and how drunk I can get and how much fun I can have; it’s about doing something I can be proud of.

“And that my children and my husband can be proud of. And making us some money.”
