Liam Payne and Cheryl welcomed their first child into the world in March
After months of speculation Liam Payne and Cheryl welcomed their son into the world earlier this year and now Liam has opened up on his decision to name his son.
The popstar couple welcomed their first child together in March and announced the wonderful news in celebration for Mother's Day. Cheryl posted a photo of her boyfriend and her son and wrote: "On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream.
"Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival."
Liam added: "My close friends and family know there are very few times when I'm left speechless... wow!
"I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far.
I'm completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she's really made my dreams come true."
After weeks of waiting it was recently revealed that the couple with a ten-year age gap named their little one Bear Payne. A source told The Sun: "They both loved Bear and settled on it a few days ago.
"Despite the sleepless nights, the couple are completely smitten with little Bear."

Now the former One Direction star has tweeted about his hopes for his son's name.
Bear Grylls – who obviously has the same name as the tot – tweeted: "Great choice! Love and blessings to you guys as you start on the greatest adventure… @CherylOfficial @LiamPayne"
Liam then replied and admitted he hopes his little one is as courageous as the brave adventurer. He wrote: "Thanks man hope he grows with an ounce of your courage! You're a boss."

Bear Grylls isn't the only Bear to comment on the baby's name. Celebrity Big Brother star Stephen Bear admitted he believes he's the inspiration behind the name.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "Maybe it’s because she fancies me. Jokes! It’s a good name. The baby’s going to be good looking with an amazing personality!
"Congratulations to them both."
How lovely.
It appears that fans are shocked Liam confirmed his sons name. One person wrote: "He's actually called Bear I'm shook I wasn't expecting that dude"
Another said: "Didn't expect this rumour to be true"
Someone else commented: "I'm excited for the kid to get injured 'Yeah he's in Bear pain'"
