Footballer Kyle Walker was all smiles last week after his team won the Premier League yet again. And the 33-year-old Manchester City captain beamed while waving to crowds from the pitch, walking with his four sons, Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, Reign, five, and newborn Rezon – while proud wife Annie Kilner watched from the sidelines.
It was a display of unity from the couple, who until recently had been living apart after it was revealed that Kyle had fathered another child with Lauryn Goodman, 33.
Now insiders say that watching Kyle and Annie, 33, publicly playing happy families has left model and reality star Lauryn feeling hurt that her children with Kyle – Kairo, four, and their 10-month-old daughter – weren’t involved.
A source says, “Lauryn was very disappointed that her children weren’t extended an invite. She feels that Kyle isn’t as compassionate with her kids and is devastated for them. She thinks it’s extremely distasteful – she wants him to realise that these are two little humans who have feelings, and their wellbeing is just as important as that of his children with Annie.”
It was back in January when reports surfaced, after months of speculation, that three years after welcoming son Kairo with Lauryn, Kyle had fathered a second child with her while married to Annie. Lauryn and Kyle are said to have restarted their affair after meeting for legal discussions about Kairo. Lauryn reportedly reached out to Annie to explain the situation in December.
Kyle moved away from their family home, saying that he was responsible for his own “idiot choices and idiot decisions”.
“I can’t begin to think or imagine what Annie is going through. I’ve tried to ask her but there’s pain and hurt,” he said in an interview in January. “The man that’s meant to love, care and be there for her, did this. I need to own up to my mistakes – I owe it to everyone. My actions have caused a lot of pain to a lot of people. I’m sorry because, as a family, this isn’t meant to happen.”
Living apart, the pair continued to co-parent their children together while slowly attempting to rebuild their marriage. And with Annie welcoming baby Rezon in April – the couple announced his arrival the day before Kairo’s fourth birthday – the pair seem to be putting the past behind them, and Annie’s appearance at the game last week suggests that they’re trying to make things work again.
Meanwhile, weeks after Annie gave birth, she was pictured still wearing a necklace with the initials KW – those of two of her children but also Kyle. On social media, she’s been sharing screenshots of messages allegedly sent by Kyle asking to speak to her, and she’s even reportedly planning a tell-all memoir.
Lauryn is not happy with Kyle for “leaving out” the children he shares with her, and doing it so publicly.
The insider adds, “She feels extremely disappointed in Kyle. She feels that he and Annie should accept all of his children. Their kids are related to Lauryn’s whether she likes it or not, they can’t erase them.”
Over the years, it seems Kyle has spent quality time with Kairo – in a video shared by the media, Kyle was shown kicking a ball around and cuddling his little boy. However, it’s unclear how involved Kyle is in the upbringing of his and Lauryn’s children now.
Last month, sources revealed Lauryn was planning to head to Germany this summer to take her kids to watch their father play in the Euros – with other reports saying that Annie was less than pleased with this, and wanted to “move forward away from any drama” now that Rezon has been born.
But even with that said, Lauryn wants more integration between the families for her children’s sake.
The insider adds, “Lauryn has always been in favour of them being integrated into each other’s lives from a young age to save from any emotional distress later on in life, with all of the adults present.”
