Last week, Lauren Goodger told OK! Magazine that she couldn’t stand it when couples bombard social media with loved-up photos of themselves.
She said: "I can't stand it when couples flood social media with pictures of themselves, that's not real to me.
“I don't need to post pictures of Jake to prove I love him or that our relationship is real."
However Lauren quickly came under fire when she, later that same day, shared a photo of herself and Jake McLean.
Now, taking to her column in New! Magazine, Lauren has lashed out at her critics, telling them to “leave us alone”.
She said: “I did my first shoot and interview with Jake last week and it made me laugh that people picked up on me saying I didn’t like it when couples flood social media with pictures of themselves.
“Nothing was said about me being happy, of course!
“I didn’t say people can’t post pictures of their partner, or that I never would. Of course I’ll upload pictures of me and Jake from time to time!
“What I meant is, I don’t feel the need to prove anything to anyone.
“People can post what they like on social media and it’s nice if couples who are in love post lovely things - each to their own!”
